Tanisha will present a talk on the Iskweu Project’s work addressing the Mi ssing and Murdered Indigenous Women\, Girls\, and Trans and 2-Spirit Peopl e (MMIWG2ST+) crisis in Montreal and Quebec.\n\nThe talk will take place a t the Strathcona Music Building\, Room C-204 (555 Sherbrooke Street West\, Montreal) and refreshments will be provided.\n\nThe Iskweu Project\, base d out of the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal\, seeks to provide immedia te assistance to families and loved ones in the event that an Indigenous w oman\, girl\, or Trans or 2-Spirit person goes missing. Its aim is threefo ld: (1) reducing the number of missing and murdered Indigenous women\, gir ls\, and Trans and 2-Spirit people in Quebec\; (2) offering support and en suring adequate response from institutions when someone goes missing\; and (3) reducing barriers in accessing support.
