When fear a nd uncertainty is coming to us from all sides\, we feel called to offer so lutions rooted in compassion\, courage\, and community.\n\nFeaturing guest speakers from around the world\, including Cindy Blackstock\, from 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ 's School of Social Work.\n\nA member of the Gitksan First Nation with 25 years of social work experience in child protection and indigenous childre n’s rights. Dr. Blackstock’s research interests are indigenous theory and the identification & remediation of structural inequalities affecting Firs t Nations children\, youth & families.\n\nAn author of over 50 publication s & a widely sought after public speaker\, Dr. Blackstock has collaborated with other Indigenous leaders to assist the United Nations Committee on t he Rights of the Child in the development and adoption of a General Commen t on the Rights of Indigenous children. Recently\, she also worked with In digenous young people\, UNICEF & the United Nations Permanent Forum on Ind igenous Issues to produce a youth friendly version of the United Nations D eclaration on the Rights of the Child.
