DESCRIPTION:\n\nEach year\, tens of thousands of North Americans experience
  intentional and unintentional poisonings and overdoses from both prescrip
 tion drugs and other widely available chemicals and substances that can re
 sult in serious illness and even death. To make matters worse\, training f
 or front-line healthcare professionals is severely lacking as few programs
  exist at the undergraduate level that can equip practitioners with the re
 quired knowledge and skills to master the management of the three most imp
 ortant poisonings. \n	\n	In order to help remedy this situation\, the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ
  School of Continuing Studies and the Montreal Medical Toxicology Initiati
 ve (MMTI) will be hosting a free webinar entitled Solving the Toxicology E
 ducation Crisis. Led by Dre Sophie Gosselin from 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Emergen
 cy Medicine\, the Centre Antipoison du Québec and the Hôpital Charles-Lemo
 yne in Montréal\, Canada\, and Dr. Robert S. Hoffman\, from NYU School of 
 Medicine and New York City Poison Control Centre. Aimed at educators\, hea
 lthcare professionals or teaching institutions involved with teaching heal
 th care professional toxicology \, this webinar will explore topics includ
 ing: \n	\n	• The current state of toxicology teachings\n	• The complexity of 
 the number of toxins treatments\n	• Factors which prevents hospital staff f
 rom making correct and timely diagnoses (and the consequences of late or i
 ncorrect diagnoses)\n	• Why toxicology training for frontline practitioners
  is critical yet lacking \n	\n	Finally\, for those interested\, the speakers
  will present the online\, self-paced training in toxicology for frontline
