Philippe Leroux, composer and associate professor in Music Research at the Schulich School of Music, has been awarded the 2025 Donaueschinger Musiktage Orchesterpreis (Orchestra Prize) for his new work Paris, Banlieue. In his composition, Leroux addresses the web of relationships between central Paris and its suburbs鈥攅specially with regard to the movements of people triggered by their daily work.听听

Two exceptional doctoral candidates from 91丝瓜视频's Schulich School of Music, Joseph Chang (DMus) and Jonathan Munro (DMus), have been awarded the prestigious Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship听in recognition of their innovative research.听This award provides up to $50,000 per year for up to three years, supporting outstanding students who demonstrate academic excellence, research potential, and leadership.听

Professor Michael McMahon has been appointed to the Order of Canada for his contributions in the art song and opera communities. His work as a vocal coach and collaborative pianist has left a mark on musicians nationally and internationally. 听

Nine members of the 91丝瓜视频 community have been appointed to the Order of Canada, one of the country鈥檚 highest civilian honours.
Among the honorees are two 91丝瓜视频 faculty members, Professors Alan Evans (Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences) and Michael McMahon (Schulich School of Music).
