There are thousands of children born of war-time rape worldwide, but very little is known about their lived experiences and their relationships with their families and communities. Professor Myriam Denov, of 91丝瓜视频's School of Social work, has been awarded one of Canada's most prestigious research awards to help fill this knowledge gap. Named Sept. 16 as one of three recipients of the Trudeau Foundation鈥檚 2014 Trudeau Fellowships, she hopes to shed light on an 鈥渋nvisible, but resilient鈥� population of children and youth.聽

Four innovative projects led by 91丝瓜视频 researchers have been selected to receive major grants under the Canada Brain Research Fund.

A study just published in the prestigious Nature Neuroscience journal by, Sylvain Williams, PhD, and his team, of the Research Centre of the Douglas Mental Health University Institute and 91丝瓜视频, opens the door towards better understanding of the neural circuitry and dynamic mechanisms controlling memory as well of the role of an essential element of the hippocampus 鈥� a sub-region named the subiculum.

Three innovative research partnerships at 91丝瓜视频 have received significant long-term investments from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) partnership grants program, totaling more than $6.8 million. Each project聽will use novel approaches to advance knowledge and understanding on critical issues of intellectual, social, economic and cultural significance -- from teaching computers to recognize musical symbols in images, to deepening understanding about text mining and the place of information technology within society.

The Mayday Fund has selected Jeffrey Mogil to be a fellow under the Mayday Pain & Society. He is one of six experts in pain management to receive the honour.
