 Transforming actionable mutations\ninto actionable cancer gene panels is a
 n important step toward\nusing comprehensive molecular analysis of tumours
  in the clinical\nsetting to help guide physicians in selecting therapies.
  Given\nadvances in cancer genetics\, technology and therapeutics\ndevelop
 ment\, the timing is right to develop a clinical trials and\nresearch fram
 ework that may benefit patients and also build a\nlong-term repository of 
 knowledge linking mutation profiles with\nclinical intervenPersonalized ca

 pilot study involving patients with advanced\nmetastatic cancers from five
  cancer centres in Ontario\, who are\npotential candidates for early phase
  clinical trials of targeted\nagents. The study includes rapid mutation de
 tection in a set of\ngenes deemed to be actionable\, validation in a clini
 cal molecular\ndiagnostics laboratory and reporting of actionable mutation
