In contrast\, tissue engineered tubular constructs\npresent a complex geometry and architecture \, limiting the\naccomplishment of suitable substitutes. Type I collagen i s an\noptimal candidate for scaffolding due to the high biocompatibility\n and processability. However\, collagen based hydrogels exhibit\nunstable g eometrical properties\, due to cell-mediated contraction\,\nand low mechan ical properties\, requiring additional modifications.\nPlastic compression (PC) technique rapidly produces dense collagen\nconstructs with fibrillar densities equivalent to native tissue.
