 les Foran is a writer of novels\,\nnon-fiction\, and journalism. He has pu
 blished eight books\,\nincluding the multi-award-winning The Last House of
 \nUlster. Though raised in Toronto\, he was reared\, thanks to a\nFrench-C
 anadian mother\, on the Montreal Canadiens. Maurice Richard\,\nwho retired
  from hockey the same year Foran was born\, was mistaken\nby the boy for a
  local saint\, so reverential were the evocations of\nhis name among exten
 ded family members. Foran lives with his family\nin Peterborough\, Ontario
 .\nDr. Vincent Lam is from the expatriate Chinese\ncommunity of Vietnam. T
 rained in Toronto\, he is an emergency\nphysician and a lecturer at the Un
 iversity of Toronto. His first\nbook\, Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures\,
  won the 2006\nScotiabank Giller Prize. Lam is the co-author of The Flu\nP
 andemic and You\, which received an award from the American\nMedical Write
 rs Association in 2007. He and his family live in\nToronto.\nAndré Pratte 
 has covered politics for most of\nhis 30-year career as a reporter\, colum
 nist\, and editor. He has\nwritten five books on politics and the media\, 
 including\nCharest: His Life and Politics. Chief editorial writer for\nthe
  La Presse newspaper\, he lives with his family in\nMontreal.\n
