 il for the Arts is coordinating visits to\nuniversities to provide informa
 tion and advice on the Killam\nProgram. Dr. Peter Morand\, Special Advisor
 \, Killam Program\, Canada\nCouncil for the Arts will give a general prese
 ntation on the Killam\nProgram.\nThe presentation will include historical 
 and statistical\ninformation\, explanations on eligibility and application
 \nrequirements\, tips on how to improve one's application and\ninformation
  on the electronic filing process. The presentation will\nbe followed by a
  general question period. Dr. Morand will also be\navailable\, after the p
 resentation\,  (between 11:00 and 12:00)\nto meet with researchers individ
 ually.\nResearchers who anticipate submitting an application to the 2012\n
 Killam Research Fellowship competition are strongly encouraged to\nattend 
 this meeting as are potential nominators and/or nominees for\nthe 2012 Kil
 lam Prize.\nKILLAM RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS are offered on a\ncompetitive basi
 s to support distinguished Canadian researchers\,\nnormally full professor
 s in Canadian universities\, in any of the\nfollowing broad fields: humani
 ties\, social sciences\, natural\nsciences\, health sciences\, engineering
  and studies linking any of\nthe disciplines within these broad fields. Ca
 nadian citizens or\npermanent residents of Canada may hold the Fellowships
 .\nThey are “release time” fellowships\, which provide two\nyears of full 
 release from teaching and administrative\nduties. The fellowship funds are
  paid to the university or\nresearch institute that employs the fellow to 
 relieve him or her of\nall teaching and administrative responsibilities wh
 ile continuing\nto pay the fellow’s full salary and benefits during the en
 tire\nperiod of the fellowship.\nKILLAM PRIZES: Up to five prizes of $100\
 ,000\neach are given annually to eminent Canadian scholars in recognition
 \nof distinguished career achievement in the natural sciences\, health\nsc
 iences\, engineering\, social sciences and humanities respectively.\nNomin
