DESCRIPTION:Our next movie in the Neuro Film series is Rain Man (1988). A\n
 comedy-drama of an abrasive and selfish yuppie\, Charlie Babbitt\n(Tom Cru
 ise) who discovers that his estranged father has died and\nbequeathed all 
 of his multimillion-dollar estate to his other son\,\nRaymond (Dustin Hoff
 man)\, a man with autism of whose existence\nCharlie was unaware. Charlie 
 meets Raymond and learns about\nRaymond's autism\, which he initially beli
 eves is curable —\nresulting in his frequent frustration with his brother'
 s antics.\nCharlie’s feelings for his brother evolve during the course of 
 the\nmovie as do his values. The film won four Oscars at the 61st\nAcademy
  Awards (March 1989)\, including Best Picture\, Best Original\nScreenplay\
 , Best Director and Best Actor in a leading role for\nHoffman. Its crew re
 ceived an additional four nominations.\n\nRain Man will be hosted by Gabri
 el Leonard\, PhD. Dr. Leonard is an\nAssistant Professor and Clinical Neur
 opsychologist of the Cognitive\nNeuroscience Unit of the Montreal Neurolog
 ical Institute and\nHospital. He is responsible for coordinating the MNH\n
 neuropsychology outpatient service. Gabriel Leonard’s research\ninterests 
 include examining the role of the human frontal lobes in\nmonitoring motor
  output and the breakdown and restoration of\neffective connectivity in br
 ain disorders in collaboration with Dr.\nTomas Paus and the McConnell Brai
 n Imaging Centre.\n\nThe film will be shown with French sub-titles.\n\nNeu
 ro Movie Nights are free and snacks can be purchased (including\nwraps and
