 sistant professor in\nthe Department of Political Science at Concordia Uni
 versity in\nMontreal.  She is the author of The Second Palestinian\nIntifa
 da: Civil Resistance (Routledge 2010) and a co-editor of\nNonviolent Resis
 tance in the Second Intifada: Activism and Advocacy\n(Palgrave 2011)\, and
  she also writes on media activism and\ninternational law in Israel-Palest
 ine.  Julie is a coordinator\nand media trainer with Voices Beyond Walls\,
  a participatory\nmedia project in the West Bank\, and she has worked on s
 everal\ndocumentary films in the region.  Julie has a PhD in\nInternationa
 l Relations from American University\nin Washington\, DC\, with concentrat
 ions in Human Rights and\nInternational Peace and Conflict Resolution.\n
