DESCRIPTION:The 2011 Canadian Association for Refugee and Forced Migration
 \nStudies (CARFMS) Conference will bring together researchers\,\npolicymak
 ers\, displaced persons and advocates from diverse\ndisciplinary and regio
 nal backgrounds to discuss the human rights\nof migrants in the context of
  national and international security\npolicies. This year's conference wil
 l be hosted by the Centre for\nHuman Rights and Legal Pluralism at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ.
 \nWe invite participants from a wide range of perspectives to\nexplore the
  practical\, experiential\, policy-oriented\, legal and\ntheoretical quest
 ions raised by security regimes at the local\,\nnational\, regional and in
 ternational levels. The conference will\nfeature keynote and plenary speec
 hes from leaders in the field.\nIndividual papers and organized panels wil
 l be structured around\nthe following broad subthemes:\n\nCurrent trends a
 nd challenges in human rights protection of\nforced migrants.\nHuman right
 s and durable solutions to forced migration.\nNew approaches and theories 
 in forced migration studies.\n\nA number of pre-conference workshops and n
 etworking sessions\nwill take place the day before the conference. More in
