 nformal workers.\nAbout the speaker\nDiana Kapiszewski is Assistant Profes
 sor of Political Science at\nthe University of California\, Irvine. Her re
 search interests\ninclude public law and comparative politics (with an emp
 hasis on\ncomparative judicial politics\, comparative democratization\, an
 d a\nregional focus on Latin America) and methodology (focusing on\nqualit
 ative methods and field research methodology).\nShe is currently completin
 g a book manuscript examining high\ncourt-elected branch interactions in t
 he realm of economic\ngovernance in Argentina and Brazil. She is also co-a
 uthoring a book\non field research in political science (with Lauren MacLe
 an and\nBenjamin Read).\nShe is beginning two new projects: one explores t
 he role of\nelectoral courts and councils in politics in Brazil and Mexico
 \, and\nthe other analyzes how the relationship between informal workers\n
 and the legal system is negotiated and defined in Latin\nAmerica.\nFinally
 \, she is co-editor of a volume on comparative courts\nlinked to a Sawyer 
 Seminar on comparative judicial power\, and co-PI\non an initiative to cre
 ate a Qualitative Data Repository. Her work\nhas appeared in Perspectives 
 on Politics and PS:\nPolitical Science and Politics.\n
