Professor Jundt\, Professor\nStudnicki-Gizbert and Professor Opal\, in the History Department\nwill be presenting.\nProfessor Opal's area of experti se is colonial\, revolutionary\nand 19th century American history. Profess or Jundt's area of\nexpertise is 20th century United States\, cultural\, a nd\nenvironmental history. Professor Studnicki-Gizbert's area of\nexpertis e is Graduate Supervision in Latin American History -\nColonial\, Environm ental\, and Global History.\nTogether they will be presenting both the pol itical/legal\ndimensions of the Gulf Coast oil spill as well as its histor ical\ncontext. We hope that you are able to attend this event and serve\na s a representative of your discipline. It is very important to\nhave vario us faculties and individuals represented at this Forum so\nthat the overal l experience may be enriched.\nToo often are events such as this Oil Spill quickly eradicated\nfrom public discussion because they are no longer on the news. The\neffects of the Gulf Coast oil spill are still being felt an d we\nneed to gather together to learn why it happened and what the\nimpli cations of this event are for such things as future deep sea\ndrilling\, t he environment\, the economies of the effect areas\, and\nthe internationa l laws that encompass these actions.\nAttendance is open to the public and we hope that all are able\nto attend and join in discussion of this event .
