Haydn: Symphony No. 104 in D major\nSuggested donation: $20 ($10 for students)\nThe 22th L ecture on the Biology of Music features our guest\nspeaker Ms. Sibylle Her holz\, PhD.\, who is currently completing a\ntwo-year post-doctoral fellow ship on the effects of musical\ntraining on neuronal and behavioural corre lates of auditory imagery\nunder the supervision of Dr. Robert Zatorre at the Montreal\nNeurological Institute (MNI).  She is also involved in a\nco llaborative research project with Ms. Andrea Halpern\, Bucknell\nUniversit y\, on memory and musical imagery\, as well as with the\nUniversity of Mün ster on expertise effects on music and language\nprocessing and on short-t erm musical training in stroke\nrecovery.\nMaestro Iwan Edwards has conduc ted I Medici di 91˿Ƶ since its\n12th season in 2000.  He also directs Co ncerto Della Donna and\nthe Montreal Children’s Choir. Formerly a professo r at 91˿Ƶ\nUniversity\, he recently retired from being music director (a nd\nfounder) of the St. Lawrence Choir\, MSO Choir\, Ottawa Choral\nSociet y and the Canadian Chamber Choir.\nI Medici di 91˿Ƶ was founded in 1989 by Dr. A. L. Padjen of\n91˿Ƶ’s Department of Pharmacology and Therapeuti cs.  The\nmission of I Medici is to provide musical content for various\ne vents in the life of the Faculty of Medicine\, the University and\nthe com munity and thus add a unique social dimension to medical\neducation and to the profession. The orchestra also initiated an\nannual lecture-concert s eries on “Biology of Music.”  I Medici\nis available for fundraising event s.  The players come from\nthe staff and students of 91˿Ƶ’s F aculty of Medicine\nand the ensemble is completed by players from the comm unity\, upon\ninvitation and audition. The musicians of I Medici are all\n volunteers.
