 his father Dr. F. Clarke Fraser\, Canada’s first medical geneticist\,\neme
 ritus professor of Genetics at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ and 2010 recipient of a\n91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Hono
 rary Doctor of Science degree.\nAlan Fraser\, with soprano Ruth Phillips (
 D.Mus ‘09)\, will play\nworks by Chopin\, Brahms\, Mozart\, Alexander Ary 
 (91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ ’76) and\nhimself.\nBased in middle Europe\, Canadian pianist Alan
 \nFraser enjoys an international reputation both as a\nteacher and a perfo
 rmer. After studies in Montreal (B.Mus 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ\n‘80\, Dip.AMPS Concordia ’8
 4\, M.Mus 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ ’87) notably with Alan\nBelkin\, Lauretta Milkman\, Phil 
 Cohen and Tom Plaunt\, he embarked on\na long-standing collaboration in Yu
 goslavia with pianist Kemal\nGekic where he developed an approach to piano
  technique that\nunlocks the hand’s innate power by returning to its struc
 ture and\nfunction.\nBoth his book\, The Craft of Piano Playing (Scarecrow
 \nPress 2003\, 2nd Revised Ed. 2010) and his DVD of the same name\n(Maple 
 Grove Music 2006) are now considered classics in the field\nand are sought
  after worldwide\, with translations into several\nlanguages soon to appea
 r. He has recently published a second volume\nentitled Honing the Pianisti
 c Self-Image: Skeletal-Based Piano\nTechnique (Maple Grove Music 2010) and
  a Study Guide\n(Maple Grove Music 2009) that ties in all the themes of bo

 nd raised in Nova Scotia\, soprano Ruth\nPhillips is an accomplished chora
 l and ensemble singer.\nShe recently completed a Doctorate in Music at McG
 ill with Joanne\nKolomyjec with research focusing on political laments of 
 the\nItalian seicento. Ruth began vocal studies at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ\nUniversity in M
 ontreal with Jan Simons and under his tutelage\nearned a Master’s of Music
  degree in Early Music Performance in\n2005. She also holds a Bachelor of 
 Arts degree in Medieval History\nand Literature from Dalhousie University 
 in Halifax.\nAs a member of two ensembles\, La Tarantella and La Fiorenza\
 ,\nspecializing in lesser know works of the Renaissance and Baroque\,\nRut
 h has performed in Boston\, Ontario\, Quebec\, and has toured the\nMaritim
 es. For Musique Royale\, she has been heard throughout Nova\nScotia with E
 nsemble de Temps en Temps\, Incantatus\, and Tempest.\nShe has been featur
 ed as soprano soloist in Handel’s Dixit\nDominus and Bach’s St. John Passi
 on with Symphony\nNova Scotia. In addition\, she has sung with Montreal- a
 nd\nQuebec-based choirs Viva Voce and La Chapelle de Québec\, and has\nbee
 n heard on CBC radio in performance with La Fiorenza and La\nChapelle de Q
