 nd.\nThis conference will explore the multiple ways in which civilian\nand
  mixed legal systems have embraced the trust\, with the goal of\nallowing 
 jurists from different jurisdictions to better understand\ntheir different
  approaches to this increasingly important legal\ninstitution.\nThe workin

 hich we expect to be covered include: the\nhistorical development of trust
 s in civilian and mixed systems\; the\ndiffering conceptual structures of 
 such trusts\, including how they\nare understood within the general law\; 
 the language of trust law\;\ncomparative trust law\; the uses and applicat
 ions of trusts in the\nmodern world\; and the possibilities for internatio
 nalizing trust\nlaw through increased recognition of foreign trusts and of
  party\nautonomy in choosing the governing law for trusts.\n
