 RSC\, is currently a CIGI\nSenior Fellow and professor of political econom
 y at the University\nof Toronto. His current research is assessing the ext
 ent to which\nthe continental periphery – Canada and Mexico – constructs a
 nd/or\nconstrains US power.\nHis published works are primarily concerned w
 ith the transborder\ngovernance and the economic relations between the thr
 ee states of\nthe North American continent that was institutionalized in\n
 conflicting ways by two decades of neo-conservatism\, by NAFTA in\n1994\, 
 and by the securitization of the United States' borders that\nfollowed the
  terrorist attack on 2001. His recent books on these\nissues include Uncle
  Sam and Us: Globalization\, Neoconservatism\nand the Canadian State (2002
 )\; Governing under Stress:\nMiddle Powers and the Challenge of Globalizat
 ion (co-edited\n2004)\, Does North America Exist? Governing the Continent 
 after\nNAFTA and 9/11 (2008).\nStepan Wood is an Associate Professor at\nO
 sgoode Hall Law School and a member of the executive board of the\nInstitu
 te for Research and Innovation in Sustainability at York\nUniversity. His 
 research focuses on environmental law\, corporate\nsocial responsibility\,
  sustainability\, globalization\, transnational\nprivate governance\, volu
 ntary standards\, and climate change.\nHe is vice-chair of the Canadian na
 tional committee on\nenvironmental management system standards\, a member 
 of the Canadian\nnational committee on the ISO 26000 Social Responsibility
  Guide\,\nand a frequent Canadian delegate to meetings of ISO Technical\nC
 ommittee 207 on Environmental Management. He was a law clerk to\nthe Supre
 me Court of Canada and practiced law with the law firm\nWhite & Case in Ne
 w York. He is a member of the Bar of New\nYork.\nHe is co-author\, with St
 ephen Clarkson\, of A Perilous\nImbalance: The Globalization of Canadian L
 aw and Governance\n(UBC Press\, 2010)\, and co-editor of Environmental Law
  for\nSustainability (Hart\, 2006) and Climate Law and Developing\nCountri
 es (Edward Elgar\, 2009).\n
