 ers hailing from three different countries: David\nWolfson (Columbia Law S
 chool and NYU Law School)\,\nAntoine Goetschel (Swiss public animal welfar
 e\nlawyer)\, and Alanna Devine (founder of the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ\nchapter SALDF).\nAb
 out the speakers\nDavid Wolfson teaches animal law at Columbia\nLaw School
  and NYU Law School. He has written extensively on animal\nlaw issues and 
 has represented several prominent animal protection\norganizations\, such 
 as the Animal Legal Defense Fund\, Farm\nSanctuary and the Humane Society 
 of the United States. Mr. Wolfson\nwill be discussing the state of farm an
 imal welfare law in North\nAmerica.\nDr. Antoine Goetschel is the world's 
 first and\nonly public animal welfare attorney. He represents the in­teres
 ts\nof animals in criminal cases as a public official in the canton of\nZu
 rich in Switzerland. Specializing in the field of human-animal\nrelationsh
 ips in the law since 1984\, he has played a crucial role\nin the developme
 nt of animal welfare legislation in Switzerland\, as\nwell as in Switzerla
 nd's constitutional amendment to include\nprotection for animals. Dr. Goet
 schel will be speaking on the\nrecent developments in animal welfare legis
 lation in Europe and\nSwitzerland.\nAlanna Devine is a graduate of 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ
 \nUniversity's Faculty of Law and the founder of the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ chapter\nof th
 e Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF). She is currently\nthe Directo
 r of Animal Welfare at the Montreal branch of the\nCanadian Society for th
 e Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (CSPCA)\nand has been particularly acti
 ve in the fight against Quebec's\ninfamous puppy mills.  Ms. Devine also s
 erves on a provincial\ngovernment committee that is considering amendments
  to Quebec's\nanimal welfare legislation. She will be discussing the state
  of\ncompanion animal law in Canada and Quebec.\nThis lecture is part of a
