 of Edinburgh\, her LLM from Queen's University\, and\nher SJD from the Uni
 versity of Toronto\, where she was a graduate\nfellow of the Centre for In
 novation Law and Policy. Her\ndissertation\, Putting the Community in Comm
 unication:\nRe-Imagining the Copyright Model (forthcoming\, Edward Elgar\n
 Press\, 2010) employs critical legal and social theory to examine\nthe cen
 tral assumptions of copyright doctrine.\nHer paper concerns the potential 
 impact of anti-circumvention\nlaws on fair dealing and the public domain i
 n Canada. It explores\npossible approaches to regulating technological pro
 tection measures\nwhile maintaining our traditional copyright balance.\nAt
 tendance of this conference provides 1.5 hours of\ncontinuing legal educat
 ion hours to members of the Quebec Bar\, as\nper the Bar's mandatory profe
 ssional training\nrequirements.\n
