 opmental Disorders\nCaregivers of children with neurodevelopmental disorde
 rs with\nand without externalizing behaviour problems have the most\ncompr
 omised physical health\, psychological health\, and family\nfunction when 
 compared to caregivers of children who have neither\nof these conditions. 
  Yet\, our society expects these\ncaregivers to parent children with some 
 of the most complex chronic\nhealth conditions\, sometimes with very limit
 ed support.  There\nis much ‘received wisdom’ among allied health professi
 onals about\nwhat constitutes ‘good’ parenting.  The field is bereft with
 \nassumptions that have yet to be tested.  Furthermore\, little\nis known 
 about how to conceptualize parenting of children with\nneurodevelopmental 
 disorders\, whether and how it differs from\nparenting of children without
  neurodevelopmental disorders\, what\nmakes a difference to how parents pa
 rent\, and what difference\nparenting makes to the well-being of these chi
 ldren.  The\npresentation will describe four concurrent studies that were
 \nrecently funded to address these questions.\n
