 – still very present in\nLatin America’s vision of Law – as a starting poi
 nt\, the\npresentation aims to challenge the notion of hierarchical orderi
 ng\nof laws within these civil law traditions.\nThe three panelists will f
 ocus on the 'dialogue' between the\nConstitution and constitutionally entr
 enched international treaties\nand private law. This metaphorical image wi
 ll allow to portray the\nlayers in Kelsen’s pyramid as permeable with an e
 nriching\n“allez-retour”\, as a site of dialogue with a combination of res
 pect\nand constant contestation. To illustrate this purpose\, examples\nwi
 ll be drawn from Colombia\, Argentina and Mexico.\n
