DESCRIPTION:In 2002\, the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Alumni Association of New York took up the
 \nchallenge of a community volunteer service project proposed to them\nby 
 Huntington Town Historian Robert C. Hughes. Middleville Cemetery\n(circa 1
 790\,) a small historic cemetery in Fort Salonga\, Long\nIsland\, needed r
 estoration.\n\nFor the last seven years\, the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ alumni group – workin
 g in\nconjunction with Huntington Town Councilwoman Susan Berland and her
 \ncommunity volunteers\, Town Historian Hughes\, the Fort Salonga\nAssocia
 tion\, the Northport Historical Society\, the American Folk\nArt Museum\, 
 Northport High School students\, Scouts\, neighbors and\ndescendents – hav
 e brought the physical restoration of the cemetery\nto completion.\n\nOn S
 aturday October 24\, at 1:00 p.m. sharp\, there will be a\nrededication ce
 remony at the cemetery. The ceremony is open to the\npublic and will begin
  with a procession featuring vintage cars and\nhorse and carriage corteges
  from the historic center of the former\nhamlet of Middleville (Bread & Ch
 eese Hollow Road/Old Bridge\nRoad)\, up Middleville Road\, to the cemetery
 . The cemetery is\nlocated 300 feet east of Rinaldo Road/the entrance to t
 he Northport\nVeteran’s Administration Medical Center on Middleville Road.
  After\na brief commemorative ceremony\, attendees will be able to view\nh
 istoric displays that tell the stories of the lives of those\nburied there
 \, along with community history and the restoration\nstory. The Huntington
  Militia and various other historic groups\nwill be in attendance. A recep
 tion will follow and refreshments\,\nprovided by Richter’s Orchard\, will 
 be served.\n
