 consortia and NGOs. She has\nextensive experience working in developing co
 untries and emerging\ndemocracies\, as well as in Canada.\nShe is a member
  of the Executive Committee of the Canadian Bar\nAssociation’s Human Right
 s Committee\, and the Human Rights\nCommittee of the Quebec Bar Associatio
 n. She is currently working\non a five-year CIDA project on migrant worker
 s and human rights in\nChina.\nA past President of Equitas\, she is curren
 tly President of the\nShield of Athena\, a Quebec CSO providing multilingu
 al and\nculturally-mediated services for women and children who are victim
 s\nof family violence. She serves on the Advisory Boards of Canadian\nLawy
 ers Abroad\, the African Women’s Equality Rights Partnership\,\nand the Mc
 Gill Law’s Echenberg Conference Series on Human\nRights.\nPearl Eliadis is
  the recipient of Canada’s 125 Commemorative\nMedal\, the 2006 Women of Di
 stinction Award\, and the 2008 Woman of\nAchievement Award.\nThis talk is
