 with HM\, a legendary severe amnesiac\npost-operative patient of American 
 neurosurgeon William Scoville\,\nDr. Brenda Milner was the first to uncove
 r evidence of multiple\nmemory systems – a discovery that dramatically cha
 nged our\ncomprehension of memory. Dr. Milner will discuss how we came to 
 a\nbetter understanding of the way we remember and which questions\nremain
  unanswered.\n\nBrenda Milner\, PhD’52\, DSc’91\, is the Dorothy J. Killam
  Professor\nat the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital. Trained a

 enfield’s group to study cognitive function in patients undergoing\nneuros
 urgery. After more than 50 years in the field\, Dr. Milneris\nrecognized w
 orldwide as a pioneer in cognitive neuroscience for her\nfundamental disco
 veries on memory and lateralization of function in\nthe brain. She is the 
 recipient of numerous prestigious scientific\nprizes and more than 20 hono
