Is this a process of reaching out or of\nopening up to other people and to things? Benjamin’s work\nillustrates how ideas and th ings have a life of their own. The\nepistemological problem of representat ion thus becomes an\nontological problem of efficacy\, as things (bearing symbols or\nideas) enter into human affairs.\n DTSTART:20090707T160000Z DTEND:20090707T180000Z LOCATION:CA\, 3610 McTavish St.\, rm 21-6\, 3610 McTavish St.\, rm 21-6\, I nstitute for the Public Life of Arts and Ideas SUMMARY:The Public Life of Things: How We Know People and Things and How Th ey Affect Us URL:/channels/event/public-life-things-how-we-know-peo ple-and-things-and-how-they-affect-us-107491 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
