 lution\, where international experts in Islamic and Religious\nStudies\, S
 cience Education\, and Biological Evolution will meet to\ndiscuss their vi
 ews on this important topic. The aim of the\nsymposium is to contribute to
  the broader dialogue and\nunderstanding of the relationship between Islam
  and modern science\,\nan increasingly relevant subject in today’s society
 .\nIslam is the second-largest religion in the world\, and the\nfastest gr
 owing religion in Canada as well as other western\ncountries. It has been 
 estimated that if current growth trends\ncontinue\, Islam will become the 
 most popular world religion\nsometime in the mid 21st century. The Evoluti
 on Education Research\nCentre\, funded by a grant from the Social Sciences
  and Humanities\nResearch Council of Canada\, has collected data from a wi
 de range of\ncountries with Muslim populations\, including Canada\, Turkey
 \,\nPakistan\, Egypt\, Lebanon\, and Indonesia. These findings will be\npr
 esented\, and their implications discussed\, as our panel examines\nthe re
 lationship between Islam and Evolution.\n
