  21st century\,\nTransdisciplinarity\, Interdisciplinarity and Multidiscip
 linarity\nare increasingly promoted as means to approach problems and\niss
 ues.\n\nAll these terms refer to inquiry that brings together theoretical
 \nand methodological perspectives of different disciplines. More\nspecific
 ally\, transdisciplinary research is an increasingly\nimportant approach t
 o inquiry that seeks to go beyond the\nboundaries of existing disciplines 
 and bring together the natural\nsciences\, social sciences\, humanities\, 
 and the arts. However\,\nlittle is known about the implementation\, effica
 cy\, and outcomes of\nsuch approaches.\n\nThis workshop brings together ex
 perienced presenters from the\nnatural and social sciences\, the arts\, bu
 siness\, and government who\nhave embraced\, experimented with\, and refle
 cted on the use and\nmisuses of such transdisciplinary perspectives.\n\nPr
 esentations will address the what\, who\, when\, why and why not of\ntrans
 disciplinarity with a view to enhancing our effectiveness in\nusing a tran
 sdisciplinary approach to address current multifaceted\nsocietal challenge
 s.\n\nWe anticipate this workshop will be of interest to many here at\nMcG
 ill regardless of discipline\n \n\n
