 dividuals and\ncommunities.\nBy setting out the steps according to which j
 udges must take\nsystemic and background factors into account in sentencin
 g\, Gladue\nwas a unique call for change\, a call that was both precise an
 d open\nat once.\nThis roundtable discussion will consider the responses t
 o Gladue\nin Québec and across Canada\, including developments in and arou
 nd\nregular courts\, as well as the creation of specialized courts. The\np
 urpose of the event is to stimulate thoughtful\, informed critical\ndiscus
 sion on how the Gladue principles can be understood and\nmeaningfully inte
 grated in Québec\, with close attention to\npractical on-the-ground realit
