 eaturing a jazz performance by a 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ jazz quartet and an\naddress by Ri
 chard W. Pound\, Chancellor of 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ.\nFounded in 1862\, Morri
 n College was Quebec City’s first\nEnglish-language institute of higher ed
 ucation. The school was\ncreated by Scotsman Dr. Joseph Morrin\, a former 
 mayor and prominent\nlocal physician. Through an affiliation with 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ U
 niversity\,\nMorrin College offered general arts degrees and trained pasto
 rs for\nthe Presbyterian Church for four decades.\n\nRemarkably\, the Coll
 ege admitted women into its B.A. program from\n1885 onward\, approximately
  20 years before Laval University did the\nsame. Due to the scarcity of st
 udents\, classes were co-ed\, which\nwas even more uncommon for the day. A
  lack of funds and students\nforced the College to close in 1902.\n
