 Abstract: Cross-slopes are a regular feature of\nour physical environment.
  In the urban setting\, it is common\npractice to tilt sidewalks to permit
  water drainage (0.5-2.3°) and\nto have curb ramps for motor vehicle passa
 ge (5-7°).  For\npedestrians\, sidewalks with intermittent cross slopes ma
 y impede\ngait and/or present an increased risk of falls. Hence\, this\npr
 esentation will explore the effects of cross-slope conditions on\nthe lowe
 r limbs mechanics\; specifically\, focusing on asymmetric\nkinematic and k
 inetic adaptations.\n
