 \nand what is censored? Scientific research is usually quite costly\nand o
 ne of the ways even 'independent' and university-based\nresearch is suppor
 ted is through corporate funding.\n\nIf funding comes from a subjective so
 urce\, who is to say that the\nresults come from objective research? What 
 role do the media play\nin deciding which studies are available and access
 ible to the\npublic and which are not? We will explore these questions and
 \ndiscuss how the censorship of science trickles down to what is\ntaught i
 n schools and universities.\nGuest:\n\nNigel Roulet is a professor at McGi
 ll University and the former\ndirector of the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ School of Environment
 . Dr. Roulet’s research\ndeals with earth system science\, biogeochemistry
  and ecohydrology.\nHe is an expert on climate change with a focus on the
 \nclimate-sensitive wetlands and forests in North America and Europe\nand 
 has been involved in the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on\nClimate Change.
 \n\nModerator:\n\nSara Finley holds an MSc in Bioresource Engineering from
  91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ and\na BA in International Development Studies from the University
  of\nCalgary. For the past five years\, Sara has worked in environmental\n
 research\, green building and water management. She now works as an\nenvir
