 in both conceptual and concrete terms. Professor Jemtrud's\nwork\, which r
 anges from the creation of high-fidelity\, immersive\nand interactive 3D m
 odels to digitally mediated collaborative\nenvironments\, reflects the fie

 changing how our\ncommunities are constructed.\n\nMichael Jemtrud\, MArch’
 00\, is an Associate Professor of\nArchitecture and Director of the School
  of Architecture at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ.\nHe was the Founding Director of the Carleton 
 Immersive Media Studio\nat Carleton University\, and is currently construc
 ting a new\nresearch unit at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ called the Facility for Architectural
 \nResearch in Media and Mediation (FARMM). His research agenda\nencompasse
 s the investigation and development of new technologies\nand expertise in 
 3-D and time-based new media\, high-performance\nvisualization\, and netwo
 rk-based work environments for remote\ndesign practices. His work emphasiz
 es projects that both drive\ninnovation and complement traditional researc
 h in architecture\,\nurban design\, heritage preservation and related disc
 iplines. In\naddition to courses in new media\, he teaches design studio\,
  the\ntheory of representation\, the philosophy of technology\, and the\nt
 heories of artistry found in the work of 20th century avant-garde\nand con
