Macdonald st atue will take\nplace between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at the Macdonald\nSte wart Building Terrace. A piper will lead a delegation\nalong the Photo Mem ory Trail to the Landscape Terrace at the\nlibrary and learning centre\, w here the dedication ceremony will\nunfold.\nBeautifully crafted by master sculptor Tino Petronzio\, the\nstatue will become an instant landmark on M acdonald Campus\, and\nwill serve as a permanent reminder for students\, f aculty\, staff\,\nalumni and visitors of Sir William’s vision and generosi ty.\n“This is a very proud and significant moment in the history of\nthis campus\,” said Chandra Madramootoo\, Dean of the Faculty of\nAgricultural and Environmental Sciences. “The unveiling of Sir\nWilliam C. Macdonald’s statue is our way of celebrating his life\nand accomplishments\, and it is a special way to cap last year’s\ncentennial anniversary of this campus.” \nThe bilingual inscription at the foot of the statue reads:\n“Founder of Macdonald College\, Chancellor of 91˿Ƶ\, and\none of Canada's foremost educational philanthropists\, Sir William\nC. Macdonald shall be remembered as a visionary who was deeply\ncommitted to the cause of educa tion. May this statue forever be a\nsymbol of our gratitude towards his me mory\, his work and his\nlegacy.”\nMacdonald Campus’s Homecoming coincides with 91˿Ƶ’s\nHomecoming\, and runs from Friday until Sunday.
