DESCRIPTION:October 22\, 2008 Campus Sustainability Day\n(CSD) celebrates s
 ustainability in higher education. On a\ndesignated day (month or week)\, 
 usually in October\, colleges and\nuniversities are encouraged to create e
 vents on campus and\nelsewhere that draw participants for the exchange of 
 ideas and\nknowledge among faculty\, staff\, and students\, from across al
 l\ndepartments and disciplines\, and even from across the campus 'edge'\nb
 etween town and gown. This is the kind of integrated\,\ncomprehensive plan
 ning that is a major focus for higher education\nplanners among SCUP's con
 stituency\, as well as for the increasing\nnumber of professionals who hol
 d campus sustainability\npositions.\nCSD is devoted specifically to the ac
 hievements of and\nchallenges for the tens of thousands of students\, facu
 lty\, and\nstaff working to instill sustainability principles in higher\ne
 ducation institutions and their surrounding communities.\nJoin SCUP's live
  interactive webcast (streaming video) with\nguests Andrew Revkin\, scienc
 e reporter for The New York Times\,\nRichard Moss\, vice president and man
 aging director for Climate\nChange for the World Wildlife Fund-US (and a m
 ember of the 2007\nNobel Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate 
 Change\n(IPCC) team)\, Anthony Cortese\, president of Second Nature\, a\nn
 onprofit organization dedicated to making healthy\, just\, and\nsustainabl
 e action a foundation of higher education\, and Jessy\nTolkan\, executive 
 director of programs for the Energy Action\nCoalition.\nDuring the discuss
 ion\, panelists will talk about the latest\nscientific information on clim
 ate change\, as well as the\nconvergence of campus staff\, faculty\, and s
 tudent activity in\nefforts to address climate change and sustainability o
 n campus in\n2008-2009. You will also have the opportunity to submit text
 \nquestions to the panelists during the live program.\nSchedule of activit
 ies (all in the Ferrier Building (840 Docteur\nPenfield)\, Room 456:\n\n12
