 , which logged over 3.5 million visits last year\, is the\nheart of the ca
 mpus\, providing access to knowledge\, a stimulus for\ncreativity\, a sour
 ce of inspiration\, a place for interacting with\nothers and a means of bu

 ebate the Learned Librarians on the\nnature of the Library's second coming
 .\nThis CWOQ takes place in the McLennan Library. A look at some of\nMcGil
 l’s outstanding treasures in the Rare Books and Special\nCollections Divis
 ion will follow.\nJanine Schmidt was named 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ’s Trenholme Director of
 \nLibraries in 2005. She previously served as University Librarian at\nthe
  University of Queensland in Australia. She is a frequent\nspeaker on the 
 evolving role of libraries in the 21st century. A\ngraduate of the Univers
 ity of Queensland\, she holds a master’s\ndegree in Librarianship from the
  University of New South Wales. At\n91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ\, she has overseen an extensive
  renewal of library services\nand facilities - with impressive results. In
  last year’s Globe and\nMail University Report Card\, 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ’s library ser
 vices ranked first\nor second in Canada in each of seven categories.\nPlea
