  a friend in London while he was travelling up the Nile in Egypt in the wi
 nter of 1873. Redpath was not the only notable 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ benefactor and suppo
 rter whose interest in ancient Egypt led to their embarking on journeys up
  the Nile in the late 19th or early 20th century. On display are some of t
 he books and photographs that were bequeathed or donated to the collection
 s by several benefactors who made the journey.\n
