 hosted by TISED.\n\nOverview\n\nCalifornia faces a mounting crisis of incr
 easing water scarcity driven by recurring drought\, climate change\, popul
 ation growth and ecosystem demands. To address this crisis\, more sustaina
 ble urban water use\, reuse and management solutions are needed. Sustainab
 le water goals require a new vision that decreases reliance on imported wa
 ter. Distributed\, energy-neutral treatment systems for wastewater reuse a
 re one approach. Beneficial use of urban stormwater is another strategy. I
 mplementing these approaches requires demonstration projects to accelerate
  innovation along with decision-making tools to assess system-level soluti
 ons. This presentation will describe these approaches for dealing with dro
 ught in California and research within the NSF Engineering Research Center
  for Re-inventing the Nation’s Urban Water Infrastructure (ReNUWIt) that f
 ocuses on identifying and developing more sustainable solutions for urban
