Last week, nine members of the Geography Department (students and faculty) attended the 9th Conference on Spatial Knowledge and Information Canada (SKI2026) in Banff, Alberta. The conference brings together researchers of geographic information science (and systems), spatial data science, and related disciplines who live and work in Canada. The conference was a blast and everyone is looking forward to SKI 2028.

Research led by former 91˿��Ƶ Geography PhD student Dr. Melody Lynch shows that people grow plants not just for food, but for spiritual and cultural reasons, weaving gardening into everyday community life.
