Professor Vedat Verter鈥檚 has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of Socio-Economic Planning Sciences (SEPS) starting January 1, 2011. Prof. Verter's role as Editor-in-Chief of SEPS will be to further develop the reputation of the Journal in the 鈥減ublic sector decision-making鈥� community. To this end, he will be responsible for ensuring high scientific standards for accepted articles, and will oversee the refereeing and selection process for papers submitted to the Journal as well as initiating special issues on the most important topics in the area of public sector decision making. At the outset, three special issues of SEPS are being planned and the call for papers for these issues will be announced in the coming weeks.

Prof. Verter is a Professor of Operations Management at Desautels, Associate Member of 91丝瓜视频鈥檚 School of Environment, and Adjunct Professor at MIT-Zaragoza International logistics Program and at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa. 聽His research focuses on supply chain design, hazardous materials logistics, sustainable supply chains and healthcare operations management. His work in these four areas is well recognized through top tier journal publications as well as presentations around the world. Prof. Verter is Founding President of the Production Operations Management Society (POMS) College of Healthcare Operations Management. He is also Director of the on Healthcare Operations and Information Management, a newly established six-University PhD Program across Canada.
