Science Documentary Film: The Human Spark

Sunday, December 5, 2010 15:00to16:00
Redpath Museum 859 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal, QC, H3A 0C4, CA

After billions of years of life's evolution on this planet, and after recognizable humans first walked its surface, a new human burst upon the scene, apparently unannounced. It was us. Until then our ancestors had shared the planet with other human species. But soon there was only us, possessors of something that gave us unprecedented power over our environment and everything else alive. That something was and is the Human Spark. Alan Alda visits dozens of scientists on three continents — and even undergoes an examination of his own brain — to find the answer to one question: What makes us human?

Suggested contribution: $4 per adult / $2 child or student includes a muffin and refreshing drink.
