The Law of Arbitration in Brazil : a Snapshot

Prof. Souza will present a panorama of international arbitration in Brazil -聽which includes the following topics: selecting Brazil as the seat of an international arbitration, recent important cases, legislation and trends; the role of Brazilian Courts in supporting arbitration (interim reliefs and anti-suit injunctions); enforcement of arbitral agreements and arbitral awards (both domestic and foreign); Investor-State arbitrations in Brazil (PPP law, concessions) and the perspectives of Brazil becoming a party to BITs and the ICSID Convention.
