Dr. Assitan Diallo has a Ph.D. in Sociology (Population Studies) from Brown University, Rhode Island, USA. A citizen of Mali, she works in Bamako as an International Consultant in the areas of socioeconomic development, gender issues, and project monitoring and evaluation. 聽Her research interests include 鈥済ender and culture, globalisation and women鈥檚 citizenship, women鈥檚 entrepreneurship, human rights, and gender-based violence鈥�. She is currently an IDRC Research Fellow for the Joint Chair in Women's Studies / University of Ottawa & Carleton University, from January to July 2010.
