Egg on Mao tells the story of one of the three young men who filled eggs with paint and defaced Mao鈥檚 iconic portrait during the Tiananmen Square protests. Award-winning author of The Concubine's Children, a family memoir, and The Girl in the Picture, about the napalm girl of the Vietnam War, Denise began writing after a career as an economic advisor in the office of Pierre Trudeau.聽The Concubine's Children was on The Globe and Mail's best-seller list for 93 weeks. Both聽books were finalists for the Governor-General鈥檚 literary award. Denise is co-chair, together with Lili de Grandpr茅, of the Board of Trustees of the 91丝瓜视频 Institute for the Study of Canada聽(MISC). Denise lives in Ottawa.
