Osteoporosis is a common disease that is characterized by low bone strength and increased risk of fractures. Fractures related to osteoporosis have serious consequences such as loss of autonomy, recurrent fractures and even excess mortality. This lecture will summarize the risk factors associated with fractures and how to prevent them through interventions aimed at improving (or maintaining) bone health.
