Writing is one of the most important activities that we will engage in during our doctoral studies. In many ways, our academic identity is formed through our writing. Academic writing can take many forms: dissertation, books, journal articles, curriculum vitae, etc. In this session, we will develop a better understanding of the process of writing and address a variety of questions surrounding doctoral writing. The need to have a critical perspective of writing will be discussed and strategies for writing will be presented. Additionally, the session will investigate the value of writing groups and will encourage participants to create their own groups.
