In 2023 Desautels’s EDI Initiative launched the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ EDI Award of Excellence to recognize incoming students whose leadership, community engagement and commitment to equity and inclusion set them apart. The first recipient, Aïsha Nsiempba (BCom’26), was recognized for her mentorship, community involvement and work with the Branches Pick Your Path (PYP) program for Black youth. In an interview with Senior EDI Advisor Karrie-Noelle Plohman, she reflected on her journey to 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ, the impact of mentorship and the importance of belonging and representation in higher education.
