BEGIN:VCALENDAR VERSION:2.0 PRODID:-//132.216.98.100//NONSGML kigkonsult.se iCalcreator 2.20.4// BEGIN:VEVENT UID:20260726T084643EDT-6331RdtTwO@132.216.98.100 DTSTAMP:20260726T124643Z DESCRIPTION:\nSteinberg Centre for Simulation and Interactive Learning\n Ina ugural Call for Research Proposals\n\n \n\nThe Steinberg Centre for Simula tion and Interactive Learning (SCSIL) is pleased to announce the inaugural call for applications for Conference Travel (CT) and Operational Research Support or Seed Funding (ORS-SF) available to Faculty Members of the McGi ll University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.\n\nWe seek to suppo rt research and research dissemination that involves simulation OR interac tive learning (or both)\, where:\n\n\n data that is part of at least one fo rmal research question is collected at the SCSIL and\n the participants are healthcare trainees’ or healthcare workers engaging in continuing profess ional development.\n\n\nWhile Faculty are eligible to apply for both trave l or research funding categories\, priority will be given to distributing funds between as many eligible faculty as possible—all-else-equal.\n\nConf erence Travel (CT) Category: Supporting the presentation of empirical rese arch at major international (priority\; e.g.\, AMEE\, AERA\, EARLI\, IMSH\ , SESAM\, ACS\, ASE) or national conferences (e.g.\, Sim Expo\, ICAM\, C-C ASE).\n\nEligibility Guidelines:\n\n\n International conference travel has a cap of $5\,000 with allowed expenses as per 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ guidelines (e.g.\, pe r diem\, economy class flight).\n Travel has a cap of $3\,000 within Canada .\n Faculty can only apply for this category once per call for proposals.\n A faculty member can: (1) apply to present and attend a conference OR (2) have a student they are supervising attend and present their work at a con ference\, OR (3) apply to support both supervising faculty member and pres enting student.\n Priority will be given to international conference presen tations\n\n\nApplication Guidelines:\n\n\n Send documentation of accepted c onference presentation along with the submitted abstract.\n \n Include confe rence name and whether the conference location is local\, national\, or in ternational.\n \n \n\n\nOperational Research Support Category: Supporting op erational costs of ongoing research (e.g.\, standardized patient costs\, d isposable equipment\, licenses\, statistical consultation\, engineering st udent coding) or seed funding for new research projects.\n\nEligibility Gu idelines:\n\n\n $1\,000-$5\,000 per project\n Faculty can only apply for thi s category once per call for proposals\n\n\nApplication Guidelines (very s imilar to the IHSE’s Research Seed Fund):\n\n\n A two-page written descript ion of the proposed project\n A proposed budget and justification\n A lay su mmary\n References\n An abridged CV (maximum 2 pages) per team member\n\n\n \n\nWithin the two-page limit:\n\n\n Background and Rationale\n Proposed Res earch Question\n Methodology and Methods\n Anticipated Findings/Results\n Sig nificance to HSE\n Feasibility & Team Member Roles\n Project Timeline\n Propo sed Funding Plan for future work\n\n\nIn supplemental pages:\n\n\n Budget ( maximum 1 page) *\n Lay Summary (maximum 250 words)\n An abridged CV (maximu m 2 pages) per team member\n References\n\n\n* For a full description of el igible and ineligible expenses please see 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµâ€™s Eligible Expenses\n\nAl l sections of the application must respect the following: Font 12 (Times N ew Roman or equivalent) and minimum 2 cm margins.
