I would like to sincerely thank the Family of Mrs. Judy Patton Hamilton, for this incredible internship opportunity. Your generous support has enabled me to complete this internship. I'm originally from Toulouse, France, and I'm currently in my second year (U2) at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ, majoring in Economics with minors in Management and Political Science. Outside of my studies, I'm passionate about musical theater, and I also enjoy swimming and dancing. In the future, I hope to work in the cultural or film industry in France, possibly in a management or production role, where I can combine my organizational skills with my passion for the arts.

I chose this internship at Compagnie Unissons! because it fits perfectly with my minor in management and my interests in marketing and culture. Working in Paris, the capital of culture, offers an ideal environment to develop professionally while contributing to a dynamic and innovative theater company. This experience combines my university education with my passion for the arts.

Founded in September 2024, Compagnie Unissons! is a young and dynamic theater and music company dedicated to making classical music accessible to all. Thanks to its innovative approach, Unissons! fuses classical opera with modernity, creating captivating shows that preserve the essence of traditional music. The company is known for its daring reinterpretations of classical works, blending artistic disciplines to create fresh, stimulating shows. The recent production of Pergolesi's La Serva Padrona, a Baroque comic opera from 1733, is an excellent example. It has been reinterpreted with hip-hop dance, classical music, a string quartet and opera singers to enhance the work's liveliness and appeal.

As an intern at Compagnie Unissons! I actively participated in both the communications and logistics aspects of the company’s operations. One of my main responsibilities was to help build and engage a strong community across multiple social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. I created and scheduled posts, helped develop a cohesive visual identity, and contributed to the content strategy to increase the company’s visibility and reach a wider, more diverse audience. In addition to my communications duties, I supported the logistics and technical aspects of several of the company’s performances. This included setting up stage elements, managing props and costumes, and assisting with video recordings. I also helped prepare the company for its participation in the Avignon Festival, one of France’s most prestigious theater festivals. This event represented a major opportunity for visibility and professional growth for a young theater company like Unissons! Another key part of my role involved reaching out to various theaters in Paris to promote our shows and explore opportunities for future performances. This outreach aimed to expand the company’s presence and ensure its productions could be staged and shared with broader audiences.

My major in Economics and minor in Management were especially helpful during my internship, particularly for handling the technical and financial aspects of the role. I was often responsible for evaluating financial agreements proposed by theaters and negotiating terms.

One of the most memorable moments of my internship was the June 19th performance, the result of nearly two months of hard work. Seeing the audience laugh, the lights function perfectly, the actors' voices come through clearly, and people show up, proof that our communication had worked was incredibly rewarding. It was the first time I saw everything align: organization, logistics, promotion, and artistic vision. Sharing a hug with the entire team, relieved and proud, was my favorite memory of the experience.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was adjusting to a demanding role I hadn’t expected: pitching our shows to theaters. Most programmers declined, as their seasons were already set, and the constant rejections were discouraging. Over time, I learned to present the company with more confidence, improved my communication skills, and eventually found my place within the team. This experience taught me resilience and adaptability.

This internship gave me a first real insight into the cultural sector its financial challenges, but also its passion and solidarity. It confirmed my ambition to pursue a future in culture, whether in theatre or cinema, and strengthened my desire to contribute to a field where creativity and collaboration drive meaningful impact.

The Judy Patton Hamilton Arts Internship Award funds greatly contributed to my internship by covering essential expenses like Paris transportation, daily meals, and part of my rent. This support made the internship’s logistics much more manageable.

Thank you, again, to the Family of Mrs. Judy Patton Hamilton, for making this experience possible.
