DESCRIPTION:Perimeters\, a new graduate conference by AGSA\, invites paper 
 proposals on the topic of the “field” for our inaugural conference - to be
  held March 21\, 2026\, at Thomson House.\n	\n	Notoriously messy and elusive
 \, the “field” is a thorny problematic for many of us before\, during\, an
 d after fieldwork. This conference invites papers that sit with this troub
 le in order to engender new ways of thinking and theorizing the “field.” S
 ome of our questions include:\n	\n	- How do we find and make sense of the co
 ntexts we step into?\n	- How does “research” emerge downstream from the fie
 ld? Conversely\, how does the field prefigure and unsettle the research we
  think we want to do?\n	- What ethnographic possibilities emerge when we co
 nceive the field not just as place\, but as process or practice?\n	\n	We are
  looking for abstracts that grapple with these questions from diverse vant
 age points of the “field.” Possible themes of discussion include but are n
 ot limited to: labor\, environment\, politics\, embodiment\, subjectivity\
 , art\, archaeology\, and affect. While Perimeters welcomes academic paper
 s\, we also invite creative responses to fieldwork\, such as poetry\, pros
 e\, and film.\n	\n	Send paper abstracts (~150 words) with a writer bio (~50
